Introduction:
The tamarind fruit, edible and pod-like, are produced by the tamarind trees, which can usually grow to a height to 12 to 18 meters(40 to 60 feet) around the world in tropical and subtropical zones. The fruit is sweet and sour in taste, and is rich in tartaric acid, sugar, B Vitamins, and believe it or not, Calcium. Traditionally, the tamarind or tamarind extract has long been used to flavor foods ranging from meals, beverages to snacks. Recent studies show that tamarind has the potential effect of delaying the development of skeletal fluorosis by enhancing excretion of fluorides.
